Kathryn Mary Knudson, DMD , 74, of Blanco, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2023, after a five-year battle with cancer.

Kathryn was born on May 8th, 1949, to Michael and Anna Kondrasky, in New York City. After graduation from Bishop Reilly High School in Queens. She studied horticulture at Iowa State University, and then received a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Oregon Dental School in 1977.

In 1976, Kathryn met Rodney C. Knudson and they married in 1977 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Kathryn and Rodney went on to have one child, Michael, in 1985 in Germany.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents and survived by her husband, son, sister, Christine, and brother, Michael.

During her life, she was an avid reader and loved to travel, visiting over 30 countries. She felt extremely blessed by her family, friends, and commented once, "I've lived such a neat life".

Kathryn was particularly proud to have served in the United States Air Force as a Captain from 1981 to 1985.

There will be a Celebration of Life, held at the First United Methodist Church, Johnson City, on Wednesday, September 20th at 11am, with Luncheon Reception immediately following.

It was her wish to have a military grave side service with full military honors. Services will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on 21st of September at 11:15 am.
