Kenneth Bruce
Macaluso
Jun 2, 1947 — Aug 15, 2024
Blanco
Kenneth Macaluso , age 77, of Blanco, Texas, passed away on August 15, 2024. Ken was born on June 2, 1947 in Camp Hood, Texas. He served his country as a Lt. Colonel and pilot in the United States Air Force. His and his father's military service took Ken all over the globe, but he considered himself a lifelong Texan.
Ken graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1969 and served the USAF through 1993. Throughout his career, he was praised for his leadership, innovation, efficiency, and unflappability. He served as a teacher and lecturer on exchange at both the United States Military Academy in West Point and the Royal Air Force in England. He quickly earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and students at both posts. He was a lifelong teacher and countless aircrew members flourished under his command.
Ken absolutely loved flying and claimed to enjoy his time in the Vietnam War because of the flight hours he clocked while deployed.
After retiring from the Air Force in Rapid City, South Dakota in 1993, Ken used his vast military knowledge writing as a defense consultant for Janes. He always enjoyed getting his hands dirty and also spent some time working in groundskeeping and construction before retiring for good in 2005.
Ken and Becky moved to Blanco, Texas for their retirement years. Ken settled into their hill country community and is known for helping his neighbors and cheering on Blanco High School at their sporting events.
