Kevin Conroy, 65, of Kendalia Texas and formerly of San Antonio, passed away on Sunday, August 20 th . Visitation will be on Monday, August, 28 th starting at 2:00 PM at Blanco United Methodist Church with services to follow there at 3:00 PM. Graveside services will on Tuesday, August, 29 th 10:15 am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery under the direction of Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Blanco, Texas.
Kevin was born on April 7, 1952 in Denver, Colorado to Arthur H. and Jo Ann (Murfin) Conroy. He graduated from University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor's degree in Zoology.
Married his late wife Jeannie Jennings, they moved to San Antonio in the mid 1970's. In 1992, he and three partners opened the business ACES. Kevin married Carolyn Raffety in 2001. He was past president of the San Antonio Survey Association, involved in Texas politics, collector of knives and coins and scuba diving until 2009. He loved many outdoor activities including fishing and duck hunting as well as time spent at his property at Curry Creek.
Kevin is survived by his wife; Carolyn Conroy, his mother: Jo Conroy and stepfather Gerald Kelleher, a sister Christy Yonz and her husband Gordon, Aunt Roberta Parsons, Uncle Don Murfin, Stepchildren Jeffery Layer and spouse Sherri, Rachel Layer Velez and husband Carlos, Roisean Layer Surber, and Rebecca Layer Hall, 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Joyce Holterman and Frances Smith, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews. Kevin is also survived by his beloved dogs: Pink, Pickles and Ben.
Predeceased by: Father, Arthur H. Conroy, his first wife Jennie Jennings Conroy, sister, Candace Conroy, paternal grandparents, Clarence and Elsie Conroy and maternal grandparents Robert and Genie Murfin. Also, his aunt Lois Murfin, uncles William Parsons and Win Conroy, along with his cousin,Tomi Jo Murfin.
