Obituary

Larry Dwayne Haley, 50, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 at his home in Johnson City, Texas. Larry was born August 27, 1964, in San Antonio, Texas to Patricia Ann (Riba) Haley and James Cleveland Haley. He graduated from LBJ High School, Johnson City in 1983 and after various jobs he pursued a career in law enforcement. The love of his life was serving the citizens of Blanco County as their Constable of Precinct 1 in the Johnson City area. Larry served in this capacity for thirteen years until recently making the difficult choice to resign his position for health reasons.
Larry is survived by his mother, Patsy Haley Lewis of Johnson City; father, James Cleveland Haley and wife, Connie of San Antonio; sister, Janice Haley DeLeo and husband Tom, and nephew, Christian and niece, Olivia, all of Hartsdale, New York; brother, James Kevin Haley and wife Shauna of Johnson City, and nephew, Trent of San Antonio, Texas, and niece and husband, Tori and Gary Beck of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and nephews, Clayton, Cullen and Chance Haley of Johnson City, Texas. Also surviving Larry are his aunts, Mary Beth Gardner of San Antonio, Texas and Louise Pesek and husband, Bob of Halletsville, Texas, and uncle, Joe D. Riba of Blanco, Texas, along with many cousins and numerous dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herman and Mildred Riba and Gus and Zora Haley; brother, Lance Allen Haley; and step father Henry E. Lewis.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2014 at Community Church of the Hills, 212 Klett Ranch Road, Johnson City, Texas, with Pastor Dan Carney officiating. Interment will follow in Miller Creek Cemetery.
