Lillian Estelle Fawcett Stewart went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 27, 2005. She was born on June 4, 1918, the youngest child of Melissa Johnson Fawcett and O. Y. Fawcett. She married J. C. Stewart on June 17, 1941.Lillian was a life long resident of Johnson City, the granddaughter of the town's founder, James Polk and Julia Johnson. The joy of her life was her family, Beverly and Bill Voron of Sandy, Joe and Peggy Stewart of Sandy, M'Liss and Robert Hindman of Tyler. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren are Chris and Natalie Voron and children, Avery and Dalton of Johnson City, Corrine and Kyle Ferguson of Sitka, Alaska, Amanda and Greg Wessels and Aleigh of Round Mountain, Charlotte and Justin DeBusk of Cypress Mill, Joe Bob and Kelli Stewart and children, Maggie and Claire of Paris, Texas and Kristi Hindman and Ashley Hindman of Lubbock. Because of her special devotion to her family, "Her children rise up and call her blessed." Proverbs 31:28Lillian was a member of the United Methodist Church and Community Church of the Hills. She taught Sunday School for over fifty years in the Methodist Church in Johnson City. In her Adult Sunday School class she often said she was helping them "prepare for their finals".Her many friends and family members will always remember her as a loving servant who lived Psalm 73:23, 24, 26. "Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."Services will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, July 29, 2005 at Community Church of the Hills with burial in Sandy Cemetery. Services entrusted to Crofts Funeral Home, Johnson City, TX.
