Linda Kay Dowdy , a lifelong resident of Blanco, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2024, in Austin, TX, at the age of 80. Linda, born on August 12, 1943, was the loving daughter of Clarence and Pauline Martin. She attended Blanco ISD and graduated in 1962.

Linda loved simply being with her family and dear friends whenever she had the opportunity. Known for her passion for art, Linda will be fondly remembered for her artistic talents and her role as a substitute teacher in the Blanco Independent School District. Her art studio was not just a creative space for her, but a hub where she imparted her knowledge to aspiring artists, leaving behind a legacy in the local art community. Linda also enjoyed her weekly bowling adventures, spending countless hours at the Blanco and nearby alleys, forming lasting bonds with friends and family who shared in her love for the sport.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Kelly Dowdy, and her two sons, Gordon Dowdy and wife Deann and Clinton Dowdy and wife Allison. She is also survived by her sister, Willie Olfers, and two brothers, Glen Martin and wife Alice Jo, and Ralph Martin and wife Carol. Ninni will also be missed by her four loving grandchildren, Chelsea Dowdy and fiancé Cody Cockrell, Caleb Dowdy and wife Summer, Kasie Dowdy and fiancé Trey Hunter, and Kyndal Dowdy, and one great-granddaughter, Hadlie Hunter.

Preceding Linda in death were her parents and her siblings, Elizabeth Stork, Clarence Gail Martin, Carnell Martin, Melba Page, Tommy Martin, Jimmy Martin, and Dorothy Davis, and her grandson Braydn Dowdy

Linda will forever be cherished in the hearts of all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
