Obituary

Linda Louise Grimes of Blanco Texas passed away on Monday, January 12, 2016. She was 58 years old at the time of her death. Born to Cyril M. Novosad and Rose Marie Bordovsky in Houston Texas June 5th 1957, she lived her early years in Spring Branch, Texas, where she attended school in the Spring Branch School District. She graduated from Spring Branch High school in 1975. While she was there, she was known for her involvement in the Drill Team. After High School, Linda attended Blinn Jr. College, studying Electrical Engineering, and she graduated with her degree in 1978. She was very involved in many events on campus, one of which being the Drill Team where she was also the Captain. In 1976, while she was involved in her student events, she met Thomas Grimes III in the Spring Semester of her Freshman year. Linda and Thomas married January 8th, 1977, and have been married for 39 amazing years. After they married, they moved out to the beautiful Hill Country, and raised their children, where they have now been long-time residents of Blanco County.

Linda Grimes made her living working at the Blanco National Bank for 22 years, where her fellow co-workers and the community became her second family. When she was not at work, she loved and cherished spending time with her husband and their children in their Blanco countryside home, cooking wonderful meals and enjoying quality family time. She always made time for a morning cup of coffee, which was a trait she picked up from her Momma. She also loved attending St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, and she found true joy in serving with her Sisters in Christ at the Women's ACTS Retreats. She was a servant in every way the Lord called her to be. She sang, danced, and lived for the Lord in every moment of her life. She was always ready and able to help anyone in need, living like Jesus, showing selflessness and always ready to be called to serve. She loved to spend time with her siblings and their children sharing in stories and filling the room with laughter. Linda was always happy, always smiling, and truly a blessing to be around.

She is survived by her husband Thomas Grimes III and two children Thomas Grimes IV and Lindsay Grimes; brother Danny Novosad, sisters Donna Cotton and Debra Schovajsa (James Schovajsa), niece Britney Schovajsa, nephews Joshua Rodgers, Jacob Cotton, and SPC Travis Schovajsa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
