Margaret Meta Magdalena Lorenz, age 78, of Johnson City passed away October 30, 2006. She was born on May 25, 1928 in Doss, Texas. She was born to Bertle Welch and Ida Eckert Welch. She was the youngest of nine children. She married Clemens Lorenz on May 8, 1948 and they resided in Johnson City all their married life. She attended Fredericksburg Public School. She also attended the Lutheran Church in Doss, Bethany Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Stonewall.Margaret was a devoted housewife. She was loving and caring, always participating in school and church activities as long as she was able. Her best friend, Elizabeth Sublett, always made sure that she could go to the church activities during the week. Margaret's life was the love for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In her last few days, she still told them all "I Love You" as she had always done. She is survived by: her husband, Clemens Lorenz; two daughters and their husbands, Ed and Debra Crawford, and Gordon and Deann Dowdy; four grandchildren, Mandi Welch and husband Chris, Sheala Crawford, Chelsea Dowdy and Caleb Dowdy; three great grandchildren, Rylee, Blaze, and Dusti Welch. She is also survived by one sister and her husband, Toodie and Ted Hohenberger; two sister-in-laws, Dottie Lorenz and Esther Rhodes; and numerous nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Braydn Dowdy; three brothers Erwin Welch, Roy Welch and Rubin Welch; and four sisters, Betty Friedrich, Annie White, Myrtle Thacker and Nora Friedrich. Pallbearers are Kenneth Friedrich, Bucky Hohenberger, Douglas Lorenz, Bert Welch, Larry Scott, Scott Scott, Leonard Strackbein, and Bobby Cason. Honorary pallbearers include Ed Crawford, Gordon Dowdy, Chris Welch, Mandi Welch, Sheala Crawford, Chelsea Dowdy, Caleb Dowdy, Rylee Welch, Blaze Welch, and Dusti Welch. Memorial may be made to the Hill Country Memorial Hospice, Johnson City EMS, Hill Country Memorial Hospital, Trinity Lutheran Church, or the charity of your choiceVisitation will be on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Croft Funeral Home, Johnson City, Texas. Funeral services will the Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 3:00 pm at Crofts Funeral Home with Pastor Wm. Breen officiating. Interment will be in the Johnson City Masonic Cemetery.
