Maria Gracia Romero

Maria Gracia Romero, 85, passed away surrounded by her family at her home in Blanco on Sunday morning, April 3, 2016.  Maria was born November 27, 1930 in Hondo, TX to Jose Cardenas and Juanita Ortiz Cardenas.

She is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Celestino "Tino" Romero whom she was married to for many years.  Together they raised 6 sons and leave behind; Abel Romero (wife, Sharon), Celestino Romero, Jr. (wife, Sylvia), Roy Romero (wife, Josie), Bobby Romero (wife, Teresa), Donnie Romero, and Juan Romero (wife, Mary).  She also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.  She is also survived by several sisters, brother, many nieces, and nephews.

Maria Gracia spent her career in nursing home care where she provided many hours of assistance to the elderly for countless residents of Blanco County.  She was retired from the Live Oak Medical Center in Blanco, TX.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 10:00am, at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery on FM 473 at Twin Sisters, TX.  She will be laid to rest by her husband, Tino.

Gary Hill, retired minister will be officiating the memorial service.
