Obituary

Martha Lee Oakes Bledsoe, our beloved mother was taken too soon to be with our Lord. She will be greatly missed.

Martha Bledsoe passed on July 29, 2016 at the age of 78 years old; to be joined with her mother, Lena Pauline Oakes, who she lost when she was 12 years old, also preceding her in death was her father George Oakes and sister Margie Waxler, who served as Mayor of Blanco, Texas in 1985 until 1989.

She is survived by her four children: Joyce Bledsoe Eastman and husband Dean, grandsons Luke and Rory. Janet Bledsoe, Charlie Bledsoe and Douglas Bledsoe and wife Lydia, grandddaughter Amy and great grandchildren: Severen, Coryne, Kacen and grandson Curtis and wife Ashley, and great grandchildren Caden and Adalynn, granddaughter Kymberly and husband Seth Garza and great grandson Stone.

Martha was born in Sebastian, Texas on May 26, 1938. She attended Lyford High School and was their drum majorette. Martha also attended Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas to pursue fashion design. She married Charles Lee Bledsoe of Abilene, Texas where she lived with her four children. Martha also retired from working for over 20 years from Wal Mart.

Martha was a devoted mother who loved to be loved and gave willingly all she had to family, friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 2:00 PM in Crofts – Crow Funeral Chapel, 911 Mesquite St., Blanco, Texas.
