Welborn and Mary Agnes Owens Welborn in Carrizo Springs, Texas, September 3, 1936. Mary Ann was the third oldest of 10 children in the Welborn Family. Mary Ann, known for her warm smile and infectious laughter, was a concert pianist but she loved all kinds of music. She delved into classical guitar and cajun accordion. She worked most of her life as a bookkeeper for various businesses in Corpus Christi and in the Houston area. In 1954 she married Pat Glenn and began a love affair that lasted 63 years. She attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, and W.B. Ray High School.
Mary Ann and Pat showed and bred show dogs (Cairn Terriers, Basset Hounds, Whippets, Miniature wire haired Dachshunds) for many years and Mary Ann especially loved the Cairn Terriers.
In 1998 Mary Ann and Pat retired to the hill country and built them a new home on a hillside, and the family pitched in and helped Steve (their son) build Pat his artist's studio, next to their home. Once moved in, Mary Ann spent much of her time developing her "garden area" with various kinds of trees and flowers in front of their home.
Mary Ann was loved by many and will be missed by her family, children (4), grand children (9) and great grand children (11). Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Monroe, Lucille, Joe, Jean, and Sue. She is survived by her husband Pat, Steve (son), Annette, Celia, and Janna (daughters), her grandchildren Duston Coffey, Cassie Fox, Stephanie Anderson, Courtney Glenn, Lance Glenn, Jason Mercer, Ben Mercer, Erik and Megan Rither, and great grand children Mackenzie Glenn, Mekhi Jefferson, Axel Anderson, Gauge Sandoval, Saydee Sandoval, Peyton Glenn, Jackson Mercer, Scarlett Lirette, Clementine Barcelo, Rosie Barcelo, and Leon Rither, siblings Bruce, David, Dan, and E.W.
