Mary Ella Vause, age 78, of Blanco Texas died on August 23, 2016. Born January 24, 1938 in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, she was the daughter of W.B. Robertson Jr. and Clarene Lincoln Robertson. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother Arthur Robertson.
Mary Ella is survived by her beloved husband Dr. David Vause and children Katherine Newey, Victoria O'Berry, Elizabeth Fields, Michael Vause, and Esther Vause. She also leaves twelve grandchildren.
Mary Ella studied nursing at Duke University, and later received her training as a nurse practitioner at UTSA. She devoted her life to caring for her family, her patients, and the many people she touched through her teaching, writing, and friendship.
Mary Ella was an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Blanco Woman's Club. She served on the Blanco EMS, the Library Board, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Mary Ella was a devout Christian and used her many gifts and talents to serve the Lord, her family, and her neighbors. Her family history is listed in the Blanco County Heritage 1987 Volume in family section 809.

A Celebration of Mary Ella's life will be held at her home in Blanco on Sunday, September 11, 2016 in the afternoon.
