Matthew Wade Holcomb, 41, of Luling, TX, passed away August 20, 2013 in San Antonio, TX. He was born August 21, 1971 in Austin, TX to Kendell and Charlotte Holcomb. Matthew graduated from William B. Travis High School in 1989. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne 307th Engineering Battalion during the Gulf War. After serving five years, Matthew honorable discharged as a Sergeant.
He was preceded in death by two uncles, Randy Hallman and Darrell Holcomb. Matthew is survived by his loving parents, Kendell and Charlotte; two brothers, Mark Holcomb and wife Terri and Michael Holcomb and wife Brenda; uncle, Ernest Holcomb; aunts, Rosemary McClung, Shirley Wolfe, Lois Golembiowski, Suzanne Smith, and Darla Miller; and nephews and nieces, Miles, Joel, Victoria, Rebecca, and Allison. He is also survived by his former wife, Angela Holcomb, his beloved dog, Trooper, and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, August 23, 2013 at Crofts ? Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City where funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday morning. Matthew will be laid to rest at 10:15 AM, Monday, August 26, 2013 at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery.
