Menira H. Castañeda , 87, of Johnson City, Texas passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Home surrounded by her family.

She was born in San Antonio, Texas to Ignacio P. and Sofia V. Hernandez.  She was preceded in death by her brother Rudolph V. Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas.  She was married to Alvaro H. Castañeda for 63 years.

She is survived by her sister Lucia V. Hernandez of Johnson City, Texas and daughters Sonia G. Castañeda of Johnson City, Texas And Yvonne C. Morin and son in law Gene J. Morin of Corpus Christi, Texas and granddaughter, Victoria (Tori) Morin of Austin, Texas as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

A visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2019, at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City, Texas with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Johnson City with burial to follow at the Johnson City Masonic Cemetery.
