Obituary

Michael James Murphy born October 15, 1972 graduated from LBJ high school in 1990 and attended Loras College in Iowa. The Lord blessed him with great wit, charisma and charm. Michael was celebrated and won numerous awards for his tremendous acting and writing skills. He possessed a passion for music and upon reviewing old pictures; it was rare to find him without a guitar in his hand. An instrument he taught himself to play.

He was Irish in every way, especially when it came to storytelling. Michael could captivate an audience with an amazing story, spouting details off the top of his head, as if he had written a script and was reading you the lines as well as setting for every scene. Acting out the lines of each character and altering his voice just enough to where you could follow along. Most people needed a stage, a budget and camera crew to successfully pull this off. Michael could do it all on the phone.

His daughter Phoebe, born April 10, 2007, was the light of his world. Michael is survived by his parents James and Brenda Murphy, his brother Patrick Murphy, Patrick's wife Christal, niece Erin, nephew Sean, his sister Kimberlee Kurimski, her husband David, nephew Kevin Diehl and numerous friends and acquaintances, due to his ability to make a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Michael James Francis Murphy, 40, passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was preceded in death by his brother James (Jimmy) Connor Murphy and will be laid to rest next to him at Miller Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, March 25, 2013 at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City where funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday afternoon. Interment in Miller Creek Cemetery will follow.
