Mildred Wamsley Hendrix, passed peacefully to be with her Lord on September 18, 2005. She was born Mildred Pauline Wamsley to Joseph and Emma Wamsley in Austin, Texas on August 14, 1909. She is preceded in death by three brothers Robert, Henry and Noble and her sister Winnifred."Mickey," as she was known, married Mervin Briscoe Hendrix on April 26, 1931. Together they owned and operated Hendrix Cleaners in the Houston Heights for 32 years. They raised two daughters in Houston – Dolores Steffens Bevers and Charlotte Hendrix Byus. Mickey and Mervin retired to Blanco, Texas in 1969. She is survived by her daughters and her son-in-law Bob Byus, grandchildren Bobby Steffens, Dianne and Wayne Stevens and Rene Matchette. She also had five great-grandchildren who gave her much joy during her later years.She will be greatly missed by numerous other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice. A graveside service was Sept. 21, 2005 at the Blanco Cemetery with Chaplain Annie Finn conducting the service.
