Mildred Elizabeth Withers (Nee Kelley) passed away Thursday, March 2, 2006 in Johnson City at the age of 91. She was born in Dallas on May 11, 1914 to John and Effie Kelley.Mildred graduated from Johnson City High School. She married Clark Withers in 1933 and they had one daughter, Johnnie Elizabeth Jackson.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clark; 2 sisters, Ellen Norton and Doris Danz; 1 brother, Neal Kelley; son-in-law, George Jackson; and grandson, Jay Jackson.  Mildred is survived by her daughter, Johnnie; granddaughter, Jyl Labay and her husband, Larry; great-granddaughter, Ashley Elizabeth Labay; and 2 step-great-granddaughters, Kristi Labay and Stacy Fuchs; 1 sister, Kate Till; sister-in-law, Doris Kelley; and many nieces, nephews and friends.Mildred was a member of the First Christian Church in Johnson City for over 70 years. Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church or a charity of choice.Funeral services were held 10:00 AM Saturday, March 4 at Crofts Funeral Home with interment following in the Johnson City Masonic Cemetery. Rev Ernest Topper officiated. Pall Bearers were Larry Labay, George Danz, Keith Dahmann, Sonny Withers, John Withers, Keith Dildine, Kelly Dildine and Charles Woods.
