Obituary

M.O. Gibson passed away May 5, 2005 at his ranch at Rocky Creek Hye, Texas after a short illness. He was born in Blanco County, April 16, 1920. The only chid of Julian Victor Gibson and Florence Walker Gibson. He graduated from Fredericksburg High school. M.O. was a W.W.II veteran and a life member of the U.F.W. He was  in the Navy Air Corp station on the aircraft carrier  U.S.S Bismark Sea. On February 21, 1945 his ship took  two Japanese suicide planes and sank off IwoJima. The  ship was abandoned after twenty minutes due to  uncontrolled fires and exploding ammunition. Two  Tbirds of the ship's crew and squadron lost their lives. His wife Annie Louise White Gibson preceded  him in death. He is survived by two children Caroline  Walker Gibson of Hye, Texas and John Victor Gibson and  wife Debra Gibson of Spring Branch, Texas. Four grand  children , Denese Gibson, Leah Nicodemas, Kimberly  Dawn Charvis and Keri lynn Gibson. Six  great-grandchildren Rachel Holman, Colin Holman,  Crystal Mobly, Rebecca Proffer, Tyler Proffer and  Madison Chavis. One great-great-grand child Alyssa  Rena Lippy. Burial services are to be held at Crofts  Funeral Home, Johnson City, Texas on monday May 8,  2006 at 2:00pm with visitation from 4:00 to 7:0 Pm on  Sunday May 7, 2006 at Crofts. Internment at Rocky  Creek Community Hye, Texas. The Family requests that  memorials be sent to Hill Country Hospice atFredericksburg, Texas.
