Obituary

Nancy Gail Allen

February 28th, 1955 - February 8th, 2026

On February 8th, 2026, Nancy Gail Allen passed on from this earthly life to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born on February 28th, 1955, she was the youngest of three sisters. She was raised in Dallas, Texas, and called the DFW metroplex home up until her later years, when she relocated to the Texas Hill Country.

From the very beginning, Nancy was a lively and vibrant person. Those who knew her cherished her bright spirit and sense of humor. She was a social butterfly and never met a stranger. She adored children in particular, spending seventeen years working as a Special Education Paraprofessional at Little Elm ISD, leaving her mark on the lives of the students who entered her classroom.

Nancy was a devoted follower and servant of Christ. Early on in childhood, she began sharing her faith through her love of music. Throughout her life, she sang and played piano at church services, weddings, funerals, and family gatherings. Eager to spread the word of God, she attended two mission trips to Haiti. Many will forever remember her for sharing her talent and time in blessing others.

Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She treasured the time she spent with her family, telling stories, making people laugh, and sharing her love for arts and crafts with her grandchildren, who knew her as "Yaya." She could often be found tending to the flowers in her backyard, wandering the aisles of a resale store, or singing gospel music at her piano.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Hilda Ernesteen Pollard Lewis and Clarence William Lewis; former husband, Truman Wheeler; sister, Ruth Ann Waymire and husband Oderral; and nephew, Kenneth Waymire.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Gregory Allen; daughter, Stephanie Kennedy and husband Paul; daughter Alexis Wilson and husband Dusty; grandchildren: Sarah Kennedy, Hallie Kennedy, and Zayden Wilson; sister, Pamela Carr and husband Robert; and nieces and nephews. Her grandson, Caysen Wilson, is soon to arrive. Although he will never have the pleasure of meeting his Yaya, he will know her from the fond memories his family shares.

Nancy's time in this life has come to a close as the Lord has called her home, but she will forever live on in the hearts and memories of her family and friends as she joins the angels, rejoicing in song.
