Obituary

Oletha Ethel Jones entered into Heaven Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX.  Oletha was born January 9, 1932 in Blanco, Texas to Bethie (Jackson) Jones and Emil Washington Jones.  She was the last surviving of the Jones siblings.

Oletha lived 90 rich years; attending school in Austin, working at a day care center, cleaning houses, and ironing clothes for others in Blanco. She moved to Austin in 1988 and lived with her daughter Sharon.

Her favorite hobbies were sewing, embroidery, watching TV, and listening to the radio.  A daily ritual was taking clothes from her closet and refolding them. She occasionally enjoyed number painting.  Her favorite color was blue, her favorite foods were Mexican food and lasagna.  She also enjoyed socializing with friends and family.

Ms. Jones leaves this earth survived by her four daughters, Sharon Jones of Austin, TX, Gloria Jones and Glenda Jones both of Quinlan, TX and Regina Jones, also of Austin, TX; nine grandchildren, Brianna Bishop, Brittany Bishop, Charles Bishop, III, Clifton Brown, & Darius Brown; four grandchildren who were adopted; thirteen great grandchildren (who lovingly call her G.G.), Christian Bishop, Mishael Carothers, Journey Carothers (who shares the same date of birth), Eddie Lee Carothers, Michael Carothers, Brooklyne Moore, Kerrie Smith, Milan Bishop, Camilla Brown, Legend Brown, Jayliah Brown, Darius Brown, Jr., and Zuri Brown; sister in law, Joyce Jones; a special niece Barbara Booe; nephews, Gene Coffee, Jo Harrell Jones, and Emil Donald Jones, Michael, Gary, Robert, William, Deborah, Lucille, Mary Joyce Campbell, Carl and Anthony Jones.  She is also survived by other nieces, nephews, cousins, family and dear friends.

Oletha also loved the Holidays because she was able to visit with her family.  She also loved taking trips to Blanco, TX, where she lived most of her life. On these trips, she was able to visit with more family and friends.

Mama we love you and will miss you dearly!
