Blanco
Otto Carrol Fuchs , 82, of Blanco Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 2nd, 2025.
Otto (also known as Carrol) was born on November 16th, 1942, to Otto and Edna Mae (Johnson) Fuchs in Blanco, Texas. Carrol attended Blanco Schools.
In 1964, Carrol met Jeanette Springer at a Blanco High School football game. They married in 1965 and had three children: Clarence, Dayna, and Cory.
Carrol went on to work in many fields and spent his life fixing things and helping people. Along with working on the Canyon Dam, he became an accomplished mechanic specializing in Volkswagens. He was the Blanco Building Inspector for many years and even ran for mayor of Blanco. Carrol was an entrepreneur, opening and operating his own mechanic shops, septic pumping business, fireworks stand, lawncare and handyman businesses, and multiple rental properties.
Carrol maintained a love of mechanics throughout his life and had a very special place in his heart for dune buggies. He was a dreamer, with a highly creative and technical mind that allowed him to create impressive structures such as a partially underground home on his property.
Carrol was predeceased by his parents Otto and Edna Mae Fuchs, his brothers Ben Fuchs and Joe Bill Fuchs, and his son Cory Fuchs, brothers in law, Alfred Knoll, William Earl Blanchard, John Sanders and David Ledvina. He is survived by his ex-wife of 42 years Jeanette Springer, siblings Jimmy (Jean) Fuchs, Linda Blanchard, Donna Ledvina, and Wanda Fuchs. Children Clarence Fuchs and Briana Fuchs and Dayna (Jim) Thompson. Grandchildren Clayton and Campbell Fuchs, Karlen (Morgan) Linsey, and Kenna and Cove Thompson. Great Grandchildren Cullyn and Rylie Fuchs. Nieces and nephews Kim (Ron) Self, Mike Fuchs, Tammy (Jason) Downing, Serenity Drum, Tony (Adrian) Ledvina, and Katie (Will) Roach. Great nieces and nephews Alexi Self, Taylor (Thomas) Penny, Brent, Kyle, and Ryan Harwood, Cadence and Callan Drum, Simon and Riley Roach.
Carrol was blessed with a large family with many additional extended cousins, double cousins (it's not what you think), aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews whom he loved dearly.
