Patricia Louise Althaus died on December 1, 2021, at age 95 at the LBJ Medical Center in Johnson City, TX. She was born Aug. 6, 1926, in Topeka, Kansas. She is proceeded in death by her parents Tom and Myrtle Moore, husband Irvin Clayton (Poncho) Althaus, and son Tom Althaus. She is survived by her daughter Juanita (Bebe) and husband Bill Guthrie of Johnson City, daughter-in-law Jo Althaus of Caldwell, TX, granddaughter Heather and husband Chris Crawford of Bryan, TX, grandson Andy and wife Angie Althaus of Tomball TX, and granddaughter Kristi and husband Kevin Chisum of Pearland TX, and numerous great-grandchildren.
Pat came to Texas in the 1940's after her husband Lewis Langston was KIA on Okinawa during WWII. Previously, she worked for Better Homes and Garden in New York and at one of the military canteens in California during WWII. After marrying Clayton, she became a Barber, one of the few women to do this. She and Clayton each had their own chairs at the barber shop. People questioned who was the better barber. Later she went to work for Dr. Abbot, Ranchers Savings and Loan, and Blanco County. She was a member of the Blanco County Historical Commission. She loved to do knitting and needlework.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the Masonic Cemetery in Johnson City, TX, officiated by Father Ruben Patino of St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church of Horseshoe Bay, TX.
