Patsy Gale
Sultemeier
Nov 11, 1935 — Mar 4, 2020
Johnson City
Patsy Gale Sultemeier of Johnson City, Texas was born to Raymond and Carrie Bryant on November 11, 1935 in Austin, Texas and passed away at home on March 3, 2020 at the age of 84. Patsy was confirmed in her Christian faith, and kept that faith for all the days of her life.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years, Erwin Sultemeier; her twin sons, Keith and Kavin Sultemeier; and her sister, Hazel Smith. Survivors include her five daughters; Debra (Debbie) Clark and husband Tom, Kimberly Eddy and husband Jerry, Martha (Marti) Field and husband Dirk, Lauri Humphrey and husband Bobby, and Carrie Rene Sultemeier; twelve grandchildren; De Clark, Elizabeth (Liz) Bailey and husband Otto, Avry Howell and husband Dakota, Savannah Stolzman, Addison Haertner, Ashley Waterman and husband Brice, Kendra Field, Brooke Rudloff and husband Matthew, Aaron Humphrey, Aubrey Humphrey, Garrett DeSpain and Bayleigh DeSpain; two great-grandchildren; Oliver Clark, Rowen Bailey and a third grandson, Jensen Bailey due to arrive in late April. Also, Patsy left behind her precious dog, Peanut that she dearly loved.
When Patsy met the love of her life, Erwin, she took on the role of being a rancher's wife. Her days were spent doing what she loved most, cooking and making a happy home for an ever-growing family. She loved to bottle feed an occasional orphan lamb or calf, and she loved going out onto the ranch and helping "sling" corn or just riding up into the big pasture to look out over the beautiful Hill Country that she cherished. Occasionally, Patsy would pick out a good buck from the kids' bathroom window and get a little meat, and she loved to go fishing in the tanks on the place.
As cooking was her talent and her passion, she collected cookbooks from all over, and her daughters kept her well supplied from their various travels. She spent some time cooking for the Round Up Cafe in Round Mountain and other cafes in Johnson City. She was known for her delicious homemade donuts that she would bring to the girls' basketball games on huge trays to be sold in the concession stand.
Patsy was very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to travel and watch them compete in various sporting events and scholastic activities. Patsy passed her competitive streak on to all the kids, perhaps through her ruthless play at her favorite marbles game, Wahoo! Also, she liked tickling the kids to the point that some might consider torture!
Patsy loved her church family and being a member of the "Kitchenettes" at Liberty Lighthouse Fellowship. She was known for her willingness to bring many delicious dishes in great abundance to family and church gatherings. Her willingness to help others and do anything for people was her gift.
