Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pauline R. Ortiz, a cherished matriarch, who left us peacefully on June 28, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on June 26, 1939, in Yorktown, Texas, to Refugio Reyes and Merceds Corpus Reyes, Pauline lived a life marked by love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.

Pauline is lovingly survived by her seven children: Laurie Ortiz, Sandra Trevino (Armando), Sarah Brundige (Wilie), Gracie Ortiz, Richard Ortiz, Pamela Ortiz, and Christina Owens (Mark). She also leaves behind her siblings, Yolanda Reyes, Becky Uballe, Esmeralda Smith, Minga Perez, Victoria Guzman, Juan Reyes, Refugio Reyes, Jr., and Christopher Reyes. A legacy of love continues through her fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, along with a host of other dear relatives and friends who will forever hold her memory close.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francisco Ortiz, her infant son, Ricky Ortiz, her cherished siblings Bertha Ruiz, Ruby Ortiz, Ruben Reyes, and Rudy Reyes, as well as daughter-in-law Brenda Butler, son-in-law John Fischbach, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Crofts Crow Funeral Home, where Pauline's spirit will be honored in a moment of remembrance. The funeral service will take place at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the Johnson City First Baptist Church, where we will gather to celebrate her remarkable life and legacy.

Pauline will be laid to rest in the Johnson City Masonic Cemetery, beside her beloved husband, Francisco, where they will remain together eternally. In this time of mourning, we invite all who knew and loved Pauline to join us in honoring her memory and the profound impact she had on the lives of so many.

Her spirit will live on in our hearts and the stories we share. May she rest in peace.
