Raymond Martin
Latham
May 4, 1946 — Dec 12, 2024
Blanco
Raymond Martin Latham of Blanco, Texas, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, in San Antonio, TX, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 4, 1946, in Belton, Texas, to Raymond Luther Latham and Myrtle Effie Latham, Raymond lived a life rich in adventure, love, and dedication.
A proud graduate of Pasadena High School, Raymond answered the call of duty by enlisting in the U.S. Army, serving valiantly as a Veteran of the Vietnam War. His commitment to service extended into his professional life at Valero Oil and Gas Refinery in Houston, where he devoted an impressive 45 years before retiring in 2010 as Maintenance Supervisor.
Raymond's zest for life was palpable; he found joy in hunting, fishing, and his cherished Corvettes. After settling in beautiful Blanco with his beloved wife Dixie, their shared love for adventure bloomed as they embarked on countless cruises, often accompanied by their granddaughter, Cassidy. These journeys were filled with laughter, exploration, and the creation of lasting memories that will be treasured forever.
Raymond's warm spirit lives on in his loving wife, Dixie Lee Latham; five children, Terri Latham Shotwell (James), Whitney Latham Perez, Christina Lee Moore, Courtney Moore Dunlop (John), and Cash Blackburn (Monica); his sister, Wanda Latham Gilmore; and his wonderful grandchildren, Bradley, Gabriel, Zoey, Cassidy, Camryn, and Maddie. He is also survived by a multitude of nieces, nephews, and dear friends, all of whom carry a piece of his generous heart.
While Raymond has chosen cremation and no formal ceremonies as part of his wishes, family and friends are encouraged to celebrate his remarkable life in their hearts and memories. As we remember Raymond, let us honor the man whose laughter touched so many and whose legacy will live on through those he loved.
Thank you, Raymond, for the light you brought into our lives. You will be profoundly missed, but your spirit will forever remain with us.
