Richard Ray Neudek, 66 of Llano, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born on December 6, 1948 to Carl Albert and Gayle Charlene (Smith) Neudek. Richard served in the U. S. Army and later became a police officer in 1967 at the age of 19 in Corpus Christi, Texas moving then to Wharton, Texas and resuming his duties as a policeman. Rick was later commissioned as a Texas Ranger while working for Houston Belt and terminal Rail Road. He was later a detective for Southern Pacific Rail Road in Houston quickly making his way up through the ranks to become second in command of the entire Houston division. Richard chose to retire from this line of work in his beloved Texas Hill Country making a lovely home in Leakey, Texas.
Richard is survived by his loving daughter, Connie Sansom and her husband John who was the primary caretaker of Richard in his final years both are of Kingsland, Texas; Rick had four other loving children: Randy Neudek and wife Jennifer of Selma, Richard Neudek Jr. of San Antonio, all children of Richard and Brenda Neudek ; Charley Neudek and Charlene Neudek children of Richard and Robin Neudek all of New Braunfels, Texas; His two adoring sisters Judy Stovall and husband Phillip, Elaine Blume and her husband James both of Wharton; His cherished grandchildren: Savanna Sansom, Tiffany Neudek, Randall Neudek, Raine Neudek, Anthony Vallejo and Ashley Boyer as well as several great grandchildren; Caring nieces and nephews; Carl Baker and Amy, Richard Baker and Sandra, Wendy Salazar, Renay Williams and Jerry, Rob Blume and Charlotte, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Richard's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at The Church of Jesus Christ, 421 Texas Avenue, Boling, TX 77420.
