Obituary

Ronnie David Scott, of Blanco Texas, passed away on September 11, 2026 following a lengthy illness. He was born December 1, 1949 in Merkel, Texas to David Alexander Scott and Pluma Mary Cheek.

A quiet spirit and a gentle loving man, Ronnie touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a devoted husband, a patient and kind father, and a loyal friend. There was truly no sweeter of a man.

He found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He loved a good hunt, fishing with the grandkids, playing golf, tinkering in his shop, hands in the soil, growing a garden and a HUGE love for the Texas Longhorns.

Ronnie and his wife Patti of 39 years of marriage had a beautiful blended family. In 2000, on a wing and a prayer, they founded Scott Measurement Service, a business that remains in operation today. He poured his heart and soul into its success and he was so very proud of what they had accomplished. Hard work was his virtue.

Ronnie is survived by his wife Patti; his sister Tina Wooten and husband Jerry of Joshua Texas; his sons, Shaun Scott and wife Tai of Sedan Kansas, Jay Ellison and wife Erin of Spring Branch, Texas; and his daughters, Allison Scott and wife Cindy of Millersview, Texas, Andrea Parum of Seminole, Texas. He is also survived by seven grandsons, Austin and wife Brianna, Alton and Anson Parum; Luka, Layton, and Lincoln Scott; and Luke Ellison; two granddaughters, Hailey Ellison and Landrie Scott; one great granddaughter, Merritt Parum. Each of them brought him great joy. Numerous family members and their extended families are abundant and special as well.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his father and mother and grandson, Addison Parum. Also, his father and mother-in-law, CW & Marita Hensley whom he loved dearly… and last but not least his favorite 14 yr old fur baby companion Gracie, who died the day Ronnie got sick. She is back in his arms again.

A man of Christian faith, Ronnie loved the Lord throughout his life and his family finds comfort in the promise that he now rests in God’s eternal care and reunited by those who went before him. His memory will remain a treasured gift to his family and friends forever.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
