Ruth Gene
Gipson
Jun 22, 1934 — Sep 10, 2025
Pflugerville
Ruth Gene Boggs Gipson , 91, of Pflugerville Texas, passed away September 10, 2025 peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on June 22, 1934, in Jacksonville to Nolan and Lela Boggs. Ruth was the firstborn of identical twins, Ruth and Ruby, and was raised primarily by her devoted mother, Lela. Ruth was the eldest of seven children and lovingly cared for her siblings: Ruby Brenek, Joyce Heath, Gerald Boggs, Jerry Boggs, Delores Whiteley, and Wayne Boggs.
From a young age, Ruth learned the value of hard work and the joy of caring for others. She developed a love for cooking under her mother's guidance, and throughout her life, family, friends, and guests alike enjoyed her delicious meals, homemade pies, and cakes. Ruth also had a deep love of music and found great joy in singing in the church choir, which helped inspire her lifelong faith and relationship with God.
At the age of 16, Ruth and her twin sister Ruby left home and moved to Johnson City, Texas, where Ruth began working full time as a switchboard operator for the telephone company. She cherished her work and the friendships she made there. During this time, Ruth met the love of her life, Frank K. Gipson. The two were married on March 4, 1955, and shared a devoted marriage until Frank's passing.
Together, Ruth and Frank raised two sons, Frank S. Gipson and David L. Gipson. Ruth was a devoted wife and mother who always placed the needs of her family above her own. She worked tirelessly to care for her household; preparing three meals a day from the simplest of ingredients, ensuring her family was well-fed and cared for, managing the weekly laundry trips, hand-washing dishes, ironing clothes, and stretching a modest budget with grace and ingenuity. Her unwavering positivity, strength, and work ethic were evident in all she did.
Ruth will be remembered as an extraordinary woman; selfless, resilient, and endlessly loving. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled and the countless lives she touched with her kindness, faith, and dedication to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Nolan and Lela Boggs, husband, Frank K. Gipson; twin sister, Ruby Brenek, sister, Joyce L. Heath, and brother, Gerald Boggs
Ruth is survived by her son Frank Gipson and wife Nancy, son David Gipson and wife Sheri, grandson Seth Gipson and granddaughter Kelsey Gipson; two brothers; Jerry Boggs and Wayne Boggs; her sister, Delores Whiteley, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends.
