Sadie L. Sharp went to her eternal rest on December 5, 2005 at her granddaughter's home in Johnson City, Texas. Her life of 95 years began on May 23, 1910 in Brady, Texas. Sadie received her state certification which required no degree in 1926 and began teaching in Mason County. She relocated to the Blanco County area at the A. Robinson School in 1931. She wed Neal (Bud) Sharp of Round Mountain in 1934 and they were blessed with two children, Jo Leneal and Norris Denton (Bubba). Bud and Sadie owned and operated a ranch in Round Mountain as well as running the local grocery store, feed store, and post office. Missing education, Sadie reentered the teaching field and taught for 11 more years at Johnson City High School after receiving her teaching degree at Southwest Texas State University in 1964. After the deaths of her husband and children, Sadie continued to live her life in service to God through teaching Sunday school at the First Baptist Church in Johnson City for over 30 years. She was active in Community Garden Club, Homemakers Club, and many other civic and community activities. The joy of Sadie's life was that of her six grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was a gift from God to all those who knew and loved her and will be dearly missed. Services will be held on December 7, 2005 at 2:00 p.m., First Baptist Church in Johnson City, Texas. Internment will be at the Round Mountain Cemetery. Pallbearers: Denny Wayne Stevenson, Charles Gibson, Buddy Francis, Elmer May, Terry Carter, and Roy Martin.
