Shirley Mae
Smith
Feb 20, 1935 — Nov 5, 2019
Shirley Mae Smith was born February 20, 1935 in Comfort, Texas to Wilhelm and Florence Biermann. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband of 63 years, Edwin Val Smith. Shirley always was, and always will be, a Texas Girl. Whether co-owning a Flower Shop or mingling at Lowe's Market, Shirley loved the daily comings and goings of the small-town life in Blanco.
Shirley moved on in true Texas style from flowers to oil, working with Val at the family business for the next few decades. Shirley and Val loved road trips to "roll the dice" in Vegas, beach time at their Port Aransas Condo, hunting on their Ranch, and of course fishing at their Lake House. She also loved dancing and listening to country western music. However, her primary focus throughout life was her family and the time spent with them. Shirley is survived by her three children, Mickey Gale Lewis and husband John, Keith Val Smith and wife Nancy, and Susan Gwen Lee and husband Tim; two sisters, Adeline Klein, and Joyce Jones and husband Richard; five grandchildren, Kendall, Valery, Katie, Sean, and Melissa; one great granddaughter, Kaylyn.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Monday, November 11, 2019 followed by the funeral services which begin at 11:00 AM, all at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Blanco. Interment will be in the Blanco Historic Cemetery where Shirley will be laid to rest next to her loving husband. Shirley's spirit will live on "Deep in the Heart of Texas".
