Obituary

Susan G. Whittington went to be home with the Lord on Thursday, September 27, 2018.  She was born February 16, 1967 to William Harold Woods and Patricia Lee (Innes) Woods in San Antonio, Texas.

Susan is survived by her loving and devoted husband Sam Whittington; daughter, Rilee Nicole Moser and son, Luke Desmond Whittington; mother, Patricia Lee Weiss; brother, David Alan Woods and wife Phyllis; mother-in-law, Gertrude Peveto Whittington; brother-in-law, Gordon Whittington and wife Catherine; two nephews, Capt. Clayton Woods and wife Jo and Colin Woods; great nephew Theodore Woods. She is also survived by two step-sisters Marcy Voss and husband Wayne and Robin Baxter and husband David; step-niece, Morgan Voss; step-nephew Forrest Voss, also by, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, William Harold Woods; father-in-law, D.J. Whittington; step-father, Gilbert Weiss, and step-nephew, CPT Mark Tyler Voss.

Susan grew up in San Antonio and Uvalde. She attended Southwest Texas State University where studied fashion merchandising.  She then became involved with interior design and was the head designer at Cowgirls and Lace in Dripping Springs for years.

Susan then met the love of her life, Sam. Together they expanded the Whittington's Jerky business which was originally started by D.J. and Gertrude Whittington.

Her first true love in life was horses and began riding at an early age. She had many horses throughout the years. Susan enjoyed teaching Rilee the love of horses. Luke did not have much to do with horses after one stepped on his foot.

As a devoted mom, she worked with the Hill Country Spurs 4-H Club where she held meetings, flower sales to raise money for the club and carpooling kids to activities.  Susan also loved attending Rilee and Luke's, baseball, basketball, and football games.

Susan enjoyed trailer camping with family and friends.  She belonged to "Sisters on The Fly", which was a group of women with vintage campers.

One of her great joys was getting together often with her high school friends from Uvalde.  They were more like sisters than friends.  She will be missed by all who knew her.
