Obituary

Teresa Marie Whitehouse died Saturday, September the 30th 2006 in Blanco, TX. The daughter of Mary Lee (Koeppen) Cateo and step-father VanDorn Catoe, and father Col. Larry V. Whitehouse USAF (Ret) and step-mother Moira Whitehouse, Teresa was born in El Paso, TX in 1958. She is survived by two sisters, Malissa Mollberg and husband Bernard Mollberg of Blanco, and Laura Myers of Bedford TX, and three brothers, Joel of Azle TX, Nathan of Washington DC and Joshua of Eugene OR. She has three nieces, Dalyce of Austin TX and Dana of Blanco TX, and Kali of Bedford TX, as well as a nephew Gideon of Aledo, TX.Growing up in a military family, she traveled widely and attended many different schools including the University of Maryland in Munich Germany. Subsequently, she completed veterinary technician training at Colorado Mountain College. Teresa has been a resident of Blanco since 1984. She worked as a veterinary technician at the Blanco Veterinary Clinic and recently at the Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation Center near Kendalia. She completed emergency rescue training and for a period of time was a BVAC volunteer. She was active in various churches in the community including the Ark, and was currently an active member of the Abundance Grace Church. Teresa took great pride in being the dedicated godmother of Jayme and Jessica Lowry of Blanco. Caring for animals in this community gave her great joy. As a youngster she regularly filled her family's home with downtrodden and abandoned birds, cats, and dogs. Her family knew from very early on this was her gift.Her life will be celebrated at the Gem of the Hills, in Blanco, on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 5:00 pm. It will be pastored by JD Link. The Whitehouse's and extended family will be honored to meet with you. Please come and bring your fondest memories of a woman who will be missed by many.
