Obituary

Thelma Anderson passed away on May 11 in Spring Branch, Texas after a long illness with Alzheimer's. She was born near Akron, New York on July 14, 1921, daughter of Fred and Anna (Mietz) Wehling and one of nine children. On April 6, 1953, married Roland W. "Snookie" Anderson a Rancher who predeceased her in 2002. Their union was blessed with three children; Guy W, Judith "Judy", and Brenda Anderson. Thelma enjoyed working on the ranch and in 1959, began raising chickens and became a master egg producer per henhouse. She peddled eggs for over twenty years to stores and individuals in San Antonio. She loved to garden and raise vegetables. She enjoyed fishing and wild flowers. Thelma was a member of many ladies auxiliaries: Spring Branch Volunteer Fire Department, New Braunfels VFW, Ladies of Lutheran Church and a member of Blanco Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, in San Antonio, Daughters of the Nile and Comal County Republican Women; Comal County Farm Bureau, Riverside Landowners Collation, Guadalupe River Association and Hermann Sons Lodge. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran faith and belonged besides in New York over the past fifty years to Lutheran churches of Bulverde, Blanco and Canyon Lake.Survived by daughters; Judy and her husband David Davenport, Brenda and her husband Paul Lindemann and son Guy W. Anderson and four grandchildren; Charles Davenport, Breanna, Alyssa and Mikayla Lindemann and three step-grandchildren; Jeremy and Christopher Davenport and Jennifer McDevitt. Three brothers; Loren Wehling and wife Betty of Naples, FL; Carl Wehling of San Antonio and Layton Wehling of Bossier City, LA and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. The family thanks Kim Dean, RN who cared for Thelma the past 3-½ yearsVisitation with family at Crofts Funeral Home in Blanco from 5-7 P.M. Monday, May 16. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 29797 Highway 281 North, in Bulverde at 3 P.M. Tuesday, May 17, 2005. Burial will follow in the von Specht Family Cemetery on Cypress Pass Road in Spring Branch.
