Waiman Lionel Weaver , 91, passed away peacefully at home on April 15, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas.
Waiman was born on August 5, 1934, in Waller, Texas, one of eight children. From an early age, he learned the value of hard work and responsibility, helping to support his mother and siblings through various jobs, including delivering newspapers and shining shoes.
As a young man, Waiman apprenticed at a newspaper, where he discovered a natural talent and passion for the print and press trade. This early experience led to a lifelong career in the industry.
In August 1952, Waiman enlisted in the United States Army. He proudly served during the Korean War as a Sergeant in the 27th Armored Field Artillery Battalion and was honorably discharged in 1960.
On August 6, 1955, he married the love of his life, Thelma Arlene Wood. Together they built a life centered on love and family. They welcomed their daughter, Debra Lynn Weaver, in 1963, and their son, Randall Scott Weaver, in 1969. In 1979, they returned to San Antonio, where they made their permanent home.
Waiman was known for his strong work ethic, steadfast faith in God, and unwavering devotion to his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and loyal friend. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and traveling, and later in life, he found joy in tending his yard and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Weaver and Lucille Manix; his in-laws, Arles and Thelma Wood; his siblings; his beloved wife, Arlene Weaver; and his son, Randall Scott Weaver.
Waiman is survived by his daughter, Debra and her husband, Joe Rios; his granddaughter, Ashley and her husband, Chris Kramer; his granddaughter, Rachel Weaver and her partner, Logan Stehling, along with her children, Jameson and Madison; and numerous extended family members who will cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 24, 2026. Visitation will commence at 10:00 AM at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City, Texas, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. At the conclusion of the service, interment will take place at the Christadelphian Cemetery in Hye, Texas.

Waiman Lionel Weaver will be remembered for his loving spirit, dedication to family, and exemplary life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
