Walter "Ward" Thomasson , beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Spring Branch, Texas on July 13, 2025. He was born on January 4, 1950, in Texas City, Texas to Walter V. Thomasson Jr. and Hattie Beth (Major) Thomasson.

A proud graduate of LaMarque High School, Class of 1968, Ward embarked on a distinguished career in the automotive and petrochemical industries. With over twenty years of service as a licensed electrician, he dedicated himself to his work and retired from Union Carbide in 2008. A man of deep faith, Ward was a lifelong Christian who was baptized in the Methodist Church and later served as a Deacon at Texas City 1st Assembly of God, embodying the principles of kindness and service.

In his leisure time, Ward pursued his passions with fervor. He embraced martial arts in his younger years and held a lifelong love for automobiles, particularly in the building and restoration of vintage cars and hot rods. Known for his remarkable ability to repair and fix nearly anything, he will be fondly remembered for his joyful sense of humor and warmth.

Ward is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Lyn Thomasson; their son, Derek Thomasson, and daughter-in-law, Melissa Guerra; his sister, Paula McCarter; his brother, Kirk Thomasson; and his cherished grandchildren, Hayden Guerra-Smith and Ava Laster.

A memorial service honoring Ward's life will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, July 18, 2025, in the Chapel of Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Blanco, Texas. All who knew and loved Ward are invited to join in the celebration of his life and legacy.
