Wanda was born in Danville, Arkansas on January 18, 1934 to Eual David Parsons and Lallie Mae (Chism) Parsons Francis. Wanda's father died when was very young and her mother married William Simon Francis. Together, they raised Wanda and her 19 siblings in a very Christian home. To this day, her family still has a yearly family reunion. In 1954, Wanda moved to Memphis, Texas where she raised her four children. In the mid 1980's, she moved to Johnson City, Texas and made that her home for the remainder of her life.

Family was the most important thing she valued. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren fiercely and unconditionally. When you walked into her home, you would see that almost every inch of her walls was covered with their pictures. Both family and friends knew that Wanda was a very strong and opinionated woman. She may have been rough around the edges at times and sometimes misunderstood, but she always meant well. She was not afraid to speak her mind…good, bad or indifferent. She knew what she wanted and always had fun doing it. She was a very proud and independent woman and loved living on her property outside of Johnson City to the very end. Wanda will forever be admired for those qualities, and we will honor her for the legacy she left behind.

Wanda is preceded in death by parents, her daughter Ann Birck, her granddaughter Caitlin Bullock, her sisters Mary Vallance, Minnie Stone, Martha Bullock, and Betty Jo Jackson, her brothers, Eual David Parsons, Jr., Christopher Francis, John Ed Francis, and Jessie Francis. We can only imagine the reunion Wanda is having in heaven!!
