Wayne Lee
Talley
Mar 23, 1950 — Jul 7, 2019
Johnson City
Wayne Talley , age 69, passed July 7, 2019 after a hard-fought battle with leukemia. Wayne was born on March 23, 1950 in Cambridge MA to Kirby and Theresa Talley.
He served in Vietnam and shortly after that, married his first wife and was the proud father of Erin Talley. He was a general contractor and built many hotels and homes around the San Antonio area. Wayne had a passion for motorcycles, owning and riding since his early teens. On June 10, 2000 he even married his second wife, Nancy Bronstad, on his white Harley. Many adventures were had and memories made on his bikes and trikes. He was also an avid collector of vintage western collectibles. He enjoyed going to western auctions with Nancy and decorating their home with their finds. He could always find a home for that one more saddle, Wild West poster or even an authentic stagecoach. He had a unmatched love for his dogs....if you come back as a dog, request to be a Wayne Talley dog! He also had a special talent of unrelenting teasing of all young family members which for some reason, endeared him even more as their uncle or Papa. His quick wit, funny antics and loving heart will be missed dearly.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Nancy (Baber) Talley; daughter, Erin Talley; step-daughter, Kelly Wigington and husband Chip; sister, Dawn Harris; three brothers, Jim Talley and wife Karen, Robert Talley and wife Renee, and Mike Talley and wife Sheila; three grandchildren, Sarah, Sammy, and Shawn. Mr. Talley is also survived by many other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City where funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment services will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:00 PM that afternoon.
