Obituary

William Kelly Luker , born June 9, 1953, in Camden, Arkansas, departed this life and entered into the arms of Jesus on June 8, 2026, in Blanco, Texas.

Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, cousin, uncle, and cherished friend, Kelly was a man of many talents and passions. He was a gifted musician, an accomplished guitar builder and collector, a motorcycle enthusiast, and an avid hunter and fisherman. A lover of adventure, travel, and fine cuisine, Kelly illuminated the lives of all who knew him.

As noted by his dear friend Susan Dull, "We were all the beneficiaries of Kelly's kindness, talent, and wit. He was an ambassador of Christ through his music and his words."

Kelly's musical journey began at a young age, performing with his inaugural professional band at the tender age of twelve. Throughout his life, he graced the stages of Texas and beyond, leaving an indelible mark through his guitar playing, singing, and songwriting. A brilliant performer well-respected by his peers, he was known for his humility and unwavering loyalty to fellow musicians, often enhancing their performances without seeking personal acclaim. One of his proudest achievements was receiving the Texas Pioneer Terry Award in Branson, Missouri. In his later years, Kelly found joy residing in the picturesque Texas Hill Country, particularly in Fredericksburg and Blanco.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Tell Luker and Bennie Jean Smith, his brothers Terry Lane Wedgeworth, Robert Allen Luker, Billy Jack Luker, and Paul Ray Luker, and his sister Wanda Jean Hedden.

Kelly is survived by his devoted wife, Susan Kay Schreiber; his children Cody Luker, Chad Luker, Josh Luker, and Molly Stancliff; children by marriage Eva Bull, Eric Harrison, Kevin Harrison, and Emily Harrison; his brother Lonny Wedgeworth; sister Gwenn Davis; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, grandchildren, a great-grandchild, friends, and fans.

A visitation will be held for Kelly at the Crofts-Crow Funeral Home, Blanco Chapel on June 20, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A gathering to celebrate his life will follow at Goofy's Bar and Grill in Canyon Lake, beginning at 3:30 PM and concluding at 7:30 PM.

He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace.
