William Robert Smith, 43, passed away December 25, 2019. He was born August 13, 1976 in Fredericksburg, TX to Jack H. Smith and Zoe (Sewell) Uziel.  He was preceded in death by his father Jack H. Smith.  Rob is survived by his mother Zoe Uziel of Johnson City, TX; brother Craig H. Smith and wife Sandra of Waller, TX; sisters, Janeen Smith of Austin, TX and Robin Burrier of Johnson City, TX; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Rob graduated from Lockhart High School in Lockhart, TX in 1995.  Following high school, he proudly served his country with the U. S. Navy for 14 years.  During his career in the Navy, Rob served on the USS Aubrey Fitch and the USS Conolly.  He also served four deployment tours on Air Craft Carriers, USS George Washington, USS Enterprise, and the USS George H.W. Bush. His tours of duty included Mayport and Jacksonville FL, Whidbey Island, WA, and Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, VA.

Some of the medals he received were the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Navy Good Conduct Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and Navy "E" Ribbon.

After his discharge, Rob enjoyed fishing and spending time with friends and family. At the time of his death he was employed with Vertex Aerospace in Kingsville, Texas.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Liberty Lighthouse Fellowship Church, 321 Old River Crossing, Johnson City, Texas 78636 with Pastor Jim Boatright officiating. Burial will follow at McKinney Cemetery in Blanco, Texas.
