William Marvin Thoe, 85, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at his home in Johnson City, TX. William was born in Brainerd, MN to Caleb and Evelyn Prosser Thoe. He was raised in Brainerd and following high school graduation William joined the U.S. Army, served nine years active duty. He went on to serve eleven years in the reserves from which he later retired. William saw many places and learned much during his time with the Army. Thus enabling him to work for the telephone industry after his active enlistment which led to his retirement from AT&T. After retiring from the U.S. Army as well as AT&T, Mr. Thoe established his own fiber optics business. William and his wife Margery moved to Johnson City in 1994 where they enjoyed retirement, family, and friends.

William was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bruce; brothers, Richard and Robert; and sister, Lois. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margery Bilstad Thoe; four sons, Terry and wife Margi, Rod, Steve and wife Rená, and Greg; two grandchildren, Sean and Devan Thoe; and four great grandchildren, Carter, Aubrey, Ruby Grace, and Violet. William is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
