**SERVICE LOCATION HAS CHANGED**

William Michael "Mike" Walker, 63, of Johnson City, passed away February 20, 2015. Mike was born in Wichita Falls, TX to Charles and Bonnie Jean Walker.

He was raised in Austin, and went to Travis High School before joining the U.S. Army. He proudly served his country with the 173 Airborne Infantry Division as a Spec 4. Mike was very proud of his service in Vietnam and was honorably discharged being awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Expert Rifle, and was eligible for the Purple Heart. He regaled us all with stories of his paratrooper days.

Following the war, while stationed at Ft. hood, Mike met and fell in love with Lydia Barrientes. They met in Austin, and settled in Johnson City in 1987. He enjoyed his career in Johnson City at his TV Repair Shop. Later in life, Mike spent several years working at the Johnson City Housing Authority.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sue Ann Alexander. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Lydia Walker; three children, Michelle Burdett and husband Roy, Jennifer Shumake and husband Sid, and Joseph Walker and wife Kristi; sister, Vickie Holman and husband John, brother, Charles "Buddy" Walker and wife Glenda; brother in law, Gary Alexander; six grandchildren, Benjamin, Kendalyn, Lawson, Sarah, Madalyn, and Jackson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and dear friends.

A memorial service honoring Mike will be held at 3pm Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Crofts ? Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City with a celebration of his life immediately following at Delton and Cindy Hudson's Family Pavilion located at 858 Lincoln Smith Road, Round Mountain, Texas.
