Gordon Crow

Gordon was born and raised in Victoria, Texas. After graduating from St. Joseph High School in 1991, he received his mortuary science degree from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston. His entire professional career has been as a funeral director. He began with a two-year internship in Santa Rosa and San Jose, California, and then transferred back to Houston. He worked for several funeral homes in the Houston area.
In 2007, he felt a strong urge to leave big-city life and return to his rural roots. In his search for a new location, he contacted Butch Crofts in Blanco. By coincidence, Tom Cole, who had worked for the Crofts for 25 years, was planning to retire. Butch offered Gordon the position, which he immediately accepted. "The community of Johnson City welcomed me with open arms and made me feel at home right away," Gordon says.
With his many years in funeral service, Gordon has learned a great deal. "I've been fortunate to serve people from all backgrounds, faiths and denominations," he says. "I'm proud and honored to serve the families of Johnson City and Blanco. Being able to come to Blanco County, work for Butch, and get to know everyone has been such a refreshing change from the anonymity of Houston. As a staff, we are privileged to work for families during possibly one of the most difficult times of their lives, and we do NOT take that for granted. Our industry was founded on service, and it's this focus and commitment to service that will carry us forward."
